As the elderly are referred to as the custodians and keeper of our history, therefore they are very important in the growth of every society.
Through the Pause Old Peoples’Home, we care for the elderly, just like they are cared for the young ones. Unlike the western world, where elderly people are kept secluded in a private homes away from people, but in Africa, especially Nigeria, we care for our elderly in a family homes or community where they live and helped by the youth.
with the increase in the poverty index and cost of livelihood in Africa, the young ones have abandon the elder and gone to make a living and the elderly are left to fend for themselves with no one to care for them.
Thats why the initiative to set up a befitting Old Peoples’ Home by a good spirited Nigerian is to dignify the elderly in our society as they gracefully grow old.
The Pause Old Peoples’Home is a Non-Governmental Organization conceived by Barrister Mrs. Hauwa Umar Jibirin to care and support for the Aged.
